Workshop 2026: Frontiers in Nuclear Strangeness (S-2S FINS 2026)<\/strong> which will be held on August 6-7, 2026 (<a href=\"https:\/\/kds.kek.jp\/event\/60431\/\">https:\/\/kds.kek.jp\/event\/60431\/<\/a>).\n      The workshop is organized to share recent progress in physics experiments using the S-2S spectrometer at J-PARC\n      and to discuss ongoing and future research programs.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      The S-2S spectrometer is a new high-resolution magnetic spectrometer at the J-PARC K1.8 beamline.\n      It plays a central role in exploring strangeness nuclear physics, including Lambda and Xi hypernuclei,\n      Xi atoms, and Sigma-nucleon interactions.\n      These studies are essential for extending our understanding of nuclear forces to more general baryon-baryon interactions\n      involving strange quarks, and are also closely connected to the physics of dense matter in neutron stars.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      The first physics experiments using S-2S, J-PARC E70, Xi hypernuclear spectroscopy, and E96,\n      Xi atomic X-ray spectroscopy, completed their data taking in 2025.\n      Following these experiments, E63, gamma-ray spectroscopy of <sup>4<\/sup><sub>\u039b<\/sub>H, is currently being carried out.\n      In this workshop, we will share the current status of the data analyses and discuss prospects for these experiments.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      In addition, the workshop will introduce the current experimental program and provide an opportunity to discuss\n      the preparation status of approved or planned experiments, including E75-1, measurement of Xi hypernuclear production\n      cross sections from a Li target; E94, p-shell Lambda hypernuclear spectroscopy; and E90, the search for the Sigma-N cusp.\n      We aim to identify issues and challenges toward the successful execution of these experiments.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      We have also been continuously discussing other possible physics programs.\n      This workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for more concrete and focused discussions,\n      with the goal of developing these ideas into solid research plans, such as Letters of Intent or Proposals.\n      The scope of the workshop is not limited to studies directly using S-2S;\n      broad discussions on related theoretical and experimental studies in Japan and abroad are also welcome.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      The workshop will be primarily based on presentations and discussions in Japanese.\n      However, we would appreciate it if presentation slides could be prepared in English as much as possible.\n      Talks in English are also welcome.\n      Upon individual consultation, it is also
