Biography

I graduated from and revived the PhD at the Kyoto University. After spending one year at RIKEN as a post-doc, I had a position at KEK and was in charge of the construction of J-PARC Hadron K1.8 beam line. I was spokesperson of the J-PARC E19 experiment, which has been performed to search for the pentaquark Theta+ in the pi- + p --> K- X reaction.

Research

The medium modification of vector mesons in cold nuclear matter was first observed in the KEK-PS E325 experiment. The systematic study is now carried out at the high-momentum beam line of J-PARC Hadron Facility as J-PARC E16 experiment.

Exotic hadrons are now being studied with hadron beams at J-PARC. The pentaquark Theta+ was searched for in the hadronic reaction using an intense pion beam at J-PARC Hadron K1.8 beam line in the J-PARC E19 experiment.

With the intense kaon beam available at J-PARC Hadron Facility, spectroscopy of cascade baryons will be set up as a new project at J-PARC (J-PARC E97). This is closely related to the J-PARC E50 experiment which aims at studying charmed baryons produced with the high-momentum pion beam.
