京都大学物理学教室が主催する「ローレンツ祭 2025」 が 2025 年 5 月 30 日に開催されました。

ローレンツ祭は、京大物理学教室の研究活動を京大内外の学生に知ってもらうためのオープンラボの機会です。当該研究室「原子核・ハドロン物理学研究室」では、午前、午後に一度ずつ研究室所属学生による研究室紹介を行いました。大学院における研究生活や、研究マインドについて、現役院生の生の声をお届けしました。また、現役の博士課程に所属する院生による、主要な研究活動についての紹介も行いました。さらに、研究ポスターによる研究紹介、プラスチックシンチレーション検出器を使った放射線測定の実演紹介、チェレンコフ検出器を用いた粒子識別技術や飛跡検出技術についての紹介も行いました。非常に多くの学生間交流の中で、研究室メンバーの皆もはつらつと楽しく時間を過ごしていた様子です。

ストレンジネス核物理研究グループは、(1) アメリカ・ジェファーソン研究所 (JLab) におけるラムダハイパー核分光研究、(2) 日本・大強度陽子加速器施設 (J-PARC) におけるラムダ・グザイハイパー核分光研究を推進しています。これらの先端技術を駆使した研究により、ストレンジクォークを含む系に拡張されたより一般化されたバリオン間相互作用の理解が可能となります。

The Lorentz Festival is an open lab opportunity to introduce the research activities of Kyoto University's Physics Department to students both within and outside the university. At the "Nuclear and Hadron Physics Laboratory," current graduate students gave presentations about the lab twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. They shared firsthand accounts of graduate research life and the research mindset. Additionally, current doctoral students introduced their main research activities.

The lab also showcased research posters, demonstrated radiation measurements using plastic scintillation detectors, and introduced particle identification techniques using Cherenkov detectors and track detection technology. Amidst numerous student interactions, the lab members appeared to be enjoying their time enthusiastically.

The Strangeness Nuclear Physics Research Group is involved in (1) Lambda hypernuclear spectroscopy research at Jefferson Lab (JLab) in the United States, and (2) research at the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC). These studies, utilizing cutting-edge technologies, enable a deeper understanding of more generalized baryon-baryon interactions extended to systems containing strange quarks.
